Bingley The Rough Collie Visits for Another Weekend
I was asked to have Bingley, the rough collie from 11th February to 13th February, whilst his owners went up to Wales to watch the Wales v Scotland Six Nations rugby match. Jock his owner, as you can guess by the name is scottish, so was not too happy after driving all that way from Devon to see Scotland lose 13 – 27.
Anway Bingley arrived, settled in and then as it was a lovely sunny day took him up on the moors behind our house, which he encountered last time he came. Although an old gentleman he trundled along, although unlike Daisy we have to walk at a sedate pace. After wading through the muddy puddles, decided to come back via the woods which run alongside the River Erm, which would have been a bit cleaner. Bingley was insistent that he wanted to go down to the waters edge, although once there, not too keen to actually put a paw in.
Bingley The Rough Collie Visits for Another Weekend
The following day, we went somewhere different for our walk. I got him in the car, although with a bit of difficulty, as he was used to the size and height of the back, got his timing all wrong as he jumped in, and ended up straddled across the entrance with his two front paws making it, but his back legs still on the ground, so he had to have a helping hand. We went for a lovely walk in the grounds of Saltram House, a National Trust property about 4 miles from our house. Even though there is a proper path, Bingley managed to find the muddy bits, and being a rough collie took a lot of getting clean, when we got back home.
His despondent owners picked him up on Monday afternoon, and Bingley trotted up to their car. jumped in with perfect precision ready for his 7 mile journey home.
