ARE YOU BEING INUNDATED WITH BOLSOVER JUNK MAIL?
I have been on a few cruises and before I book I did tend to phone various Cruise operators to get quotes with one being Bolsover. This now I know was a big mistake, as I have been inundated with their marketing mail which has become quite a nuisance. Nearly every day I receive one of their marketing cards and brochures advertising cruise deals. I did start just binning them, but decided a couple of months ago to keep them to see how many I was actually receiving. It was unbelievable. It incensed me so much that in July 2015 I decided to pop them all in an envelope and send them back to Bolsover with a note asking them to stop wasting paper and to stop sending me anymore. I admit that I sent this rather large envelope back to them with no stamp.
CONTACTING THEM BY EMAIL IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE
Since sending them back I have still received additional junk mail, so after trawling through their website to try and find a contact email address so I could vent my concerns that I have not and did not want to receive any such marketing junk mail (there was no way that I was going to be out of pocket by telephoning them, which seems to be only communication Bolsover want to deal with). This was was virtually impossible as the ones they show on their site were defective and every time I tried to send an email it came back undelivered stating address not recognised.
I did eventually find on their FAQ’S section I filled out their online cruise question form, only as soon as I submitted the form an automated message appeared thanking me for signing up to their online email newsletter, which I did not. So I found the place on their site to unsubscribe from this, which I did immediately.
HAVE I BEEN SUCCESSFUL?
I then had a personal email with confirmation that I had unsubscribed. So I was then able to reply to this email which came from their customer services department. I actually had a personal reply confirming that they had received my returned junk mail and said that they had now taken me off their database (which I never asked to go on anyway) but there were still some that were still in the system so was requested to bin them.
If you are in the same boat (pardon the pun) here is the email address that I managed to contact them on customer.service@bolsovercruiseclub.co.uk
I will wait with baited breath to see if this happens so fingers crossed, but will leave an update after a couple of months. If I ever do decide to go on another cruise in the future, this is one firm that I definitely will not be using.
