Donkey Quiz Night For Humans
The annual quiz night was held at the DAT Ivybridge Donkey Centre on Saturday 9th February 2013 and needless to say Steve, myself and two friends (close neighbours of ours) decided to partake. We do usually attend the quiz but on the very first one our table actually came second, which was an absolute miracle, and I can only put it down to our friends that made up the team (well they are very clever!!!). Donkey Walking in Ivybridge
I went down to the DAT Centre in Ivybridge on Monday 21st January 2013, where I am a volunteer, which was my first stint since Christmas. It was a very cold day and there was still remnants of the snow and ice that we had experienced over the last few days.We had one school in during the morning, with a second booked in, but they cancelled so we had a little spare time until the next school came after lunch. Donkey Race Night (With Horse Videos)
The hard working Ivybridge Donkey Centre (Donkey Assisted Therapy) PFA (Parents and Friends Association) fund raisers and Donkey Centre Staff organised a Race Night which took place at the Centre on Saturday 6th October 2012. If you have never been to one, they are great fun and everyone can take part. Chocolate and Paddy Join The Ivybridge EST Centre
The Donkey Sanctuary (DAT) Ivybridge has two young donkeys Chocolate and Paddy, who have come to join us to replace some our donkeys who have had to go back to Sidmouth due to ill health. They originally came from Ireland but are now happy down here in Devon. Both are just under 4 years old and as they have not been handled very much, there is a lot of training to be done to get them all ready for the special needs children to ride. Before I go on to report on our annual Summer Fair, just a little bit of information. The EST Centres (The Elizabeth Svendsen Trust for Children & Donkeys) were charities within the main Donkey Sanctuary Charity, but after many years of planning, the two charities have now merged together to become one charity and all the EST centres are now under the one main charity of the Donkey Sanctuary.
