Daisy The Labradoodle Returns for the Weekend
Daisy’s owners were going away for the weekend, and asked if I would have Daisy for the few days. Naturally I offered my services and Daisy a labradoodle arrived on Friday 3rd February 2012. She bounded in, and quite clearly appeared to be excited at being back with us again. Daisy didn’t seem worried at all when her owners left, and went straight in to the garden looking for a tennis ball to play chase with.
It was a beautiful day, so after lunch Steve and I both took her for a walk. Although cold, the sun was out and it was quite warm and we had a lovely walk up on the moors behind our house. It was lovely in the warm sunshine, and it was such a clear day, that we could see the sea from here. Daisy enjoyed it and and my right arm had lots of exercise using the ball thrower for Daisy to chase her beloved tennis balls. She just goes on and on, and never gets tired, and as long as you throw the ball, she will chase it. Quite a few times, the ball disappeared in the gorse, but Daisy finds it every time, and will not give up until she does.
She does like a lot of attention, and when Steve was working upstairs she found him in his study, but was not content to just sit down, she wanted to play, so promptly jumped up on his chair and insisted that he stopped doing what he was doing. He didn’t have a choice and she got her way.
Now, Daisy likes home comforts and loves to curl up on the sofa (she is allowed at her own house so we were not letting her do something she wasn’t allowed to do). She has a favourite teddy, which is almost as big as her, and he had to come up on the sofa with her – she then snuggled into him and promptly fell asleep – ahhhh how sweet!!!
The following day, we took her out in the car, and went to Burrator Reservoir, high up on Dartmoor. Unfortunately the weather had turned, and although much of the rest of the Country had snow and ice, down here in Devon it was raining. Although we did manage to find some ice, right next to the hedge, so Daisy decided to go skating. We all got extremely wet and were glad to get home to dry off and get warm.
Sunday came and I took her for her last walk up on the moors, and not long after that her owners came and collected her. We said our goodbyes and off she went. Peace and quiet again!!!
