eBay Customer Service – What Customer Service
I have been trading on eBay for a number of years . There are times, when unfortunately I have to contact the Ebay Customer Service with technical queries. Now I have been into their chat rooms, which is a complete and utter waste of time, and I think they employ robots who can only answer with automated responses, as you seem to go around and around in circles with not actually being given any sort of answer to your question.
I usually go down the email route, to which they state that they will reply within 3 days, even though it states in all the blub that being a silver top rated powerseller I am supposed to get benefits which include immediate replies to emails. However what ebay state and what ebay do are two entirely different things.
My latest email to them was sent on the 15th March 2012, with a technical query which actually related to a chat room discussion with two different customer support agents, both of which gave me a conflicting answer, so I set out my query in an email. As stated in their policies I should have received a reply within 3 days. However by the 20th March I had heard nothing, so emailed again with a copy of my original email. Heard nothing, so emailed again on the 22nd March, heard nothing. I then emailed again on the 30th – 2 weeks after my original email to which later that day actually received a response.
eBay Customer Service – What Customer Service
I really do get frustrated that ebay set out strict rules and regulations that as a seller I have to adhere to, yet they can print statements which clearly they do not adhere to. To wait 2 weeks for an answer which I needed an urgent reply to is totally unacceptable.
I could rant on and on about their customer service, which is practically non existent and the people they employ quite clearly have no idea of the technicalities and actual procedures that ebay have in place. On a couple of previous occasions, the customer service rep had no idea how to answer my query. Surely as employees of the biggest online shopping platform, they should at least be able to answer simple questions, but clearly not. They are making sellers give good customer service, but we actually receive non from them.
Well that is my rant for this week, but no doubt I will be putting fingers to keyboard again in the not too distant future regarding the trials and tribulations of selling on eBay.
