Piper The Labrador Hearing Dog Puppy arrived on 22nd February and he was absolutely adorable.
He was extremely well behaved and settled in very quickly.
We had some lovely walks with him and he loved his walks on Dartmoor which is walking distance from our house. There is also a lovely wooded walk by the River Erme in Ivybridge and as Piper loved any sort of water, he had plenty of time in the water.
We took him to our local beach at Mothecombe where again he loved going into the sea and playing in the sand.
He did however have one habit (not sure if it was bad or not) but he loved at every opportunity to sit on your lap, promptly fall asleep and he would be quite content to stay there for hours!!!
I too have a bad habit, I have a floordrobe (husband heard this expression and thought it was brilliant, and have to say it is a very good descriptive word and means exactly what it says) and whilst Piper was with us I left my cardigan on the floor, and when I went out he used to sit on it until I came home, even though Steve was working in the room next door.
It was a nice thing for him to do, but a bit worried that my smell was obviously that strong!!!! Still the floordrobe was obviously beneficial in this instance, and will definitely use that as a brilliant excuse if and when the next dog comes to stay.
As I also walked Henry my neighbours Golden Retriever, (please also read about him on his post, as it will give you an insight into him) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Piper joined us, and it appeared to be love at first sight (even though they were two males!).
They bonded immediately and had a good rough and tumble in the garden and enjoyed their walks together.

We had a lovely time with Piper and I hope enjoyed his stay with us, and he went back to his socialiser on 4th March.
He is now on his 16 week sound training course and I believe he is getting on really well.
