The Beautiful View

Our 34th Wedding Anniversary At The Soar Mill Cove Hotel

Steve and I decided last year to take it in turns to arrange a night away in a hotel to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary.  Well as we have now been married for so long  (and Steve deserves a long service medal for putting up with me for so long, ) we thought it would be nice to celebrate each year in a different Hotel overnight stay.   Last year Steve arranged an overnight stay down in Looe in Cornwall at the Hannafore Point Hotel which was lovely, so I then had to decide where to take him this year. The Actual Torch Although A Little Blurred

Olympic Torch on Plymouth Hoe 19/5/2012
As it is a once in a lifetime experience, Steve and I were planning to go and see the torch pass through our nearby towns of Brixton, Yealmpton or Modbury on the Sunday 20/5/2012, but decided at the last minute to go up on Plymouth Hoe for the first location for one of the evening celebrations.  We decided to go in on the Park and Ride from Plympton, into the City Centre and then walk the short distance up to the World famous spectacular Plymouth Hoe, which overlooks Plymouth Sound. The iconic structure Smeaton’s Tower lighthouse was lit up for this very special occasion. [Read more…] about Olympic Torch on Plymouth Hoe 19/5/2012

Taking our Silver To An Antiques Fair

Taking our Silver To An Antiques Fair
Our Table Laid Out

In addition to selling from our Silver2treasure eBay Shop  and our antique silver website, Steve and I have decided that we might like to start selling at antiques fairs again.  We did actually sell at fairs many years ago, when we had just started the business, and were in the process of building up our stock.  To be honest it was hard work, sorting the items out, labelling them all up with the price and information,  packing them up, unpacking them and displaying on the tables and then at the end of a long day packing them all back up again.  And during the day panicked if anything sold at the fair, hoping that it would not also sell on ebay before we got home in time to take it off. Puppy Class Attended for The Hearing Dogs For Deaf People

Puppy Class Attended for The Hearing Dogs For Deaf People

A new Trainer has recently been appointed to take over the Plymouth Area of puppy socialisers for the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People Charity  to which I am a volunteer, and although we have communicated by email, it was suggested that it would be nice to meet up and an ideal place to do this would be at one of the puppy training classes.  It would also give me a chance to meet the puppies in the area, that I might be called upon to board for short periods of time  or longer holiday cover for their socialisers. My husband Steve is really into green energy, solar power and electric vehicles. The benefit to me is the reduced household energy bills as a result of his obsession. One thing I know he is pleased with in particular is Octopus Energy. As well as great customer service and some really good tariffs they also have a referral scheme where new customers get £50 when switching from their existing energy supplier. Its free to get a quote to see if you can save money too. Just click the link below.
