Fiat 500 TwinAir Lounge With Sun Roof
My 2nd Fiat 500 was a 1200 cc model (Wygly II) but alas due to it’s poor performance I managed to persuade Steve to look for another TwinAir. So the hunt was on for another Twinair, particularly one that had a sunroof which is quite rare. Well would you believe it, but there was a little blue one advertised in a garage in Exeter and we just had to go and have a look at it.
We both liked it from the outside but it was Steve who actually took it out for a test drive whilst I stayed at the garage with Archie. He came back and had fallen in love with it, and what a difference to drive with it being a Twinair to the 1200 cc, hard to believe that they are only a 0.9 cc engine, yet it goes like a rocket, no worrying about pulling out of junctions or at traffic lights – “catch us if you can comes into mind.” Steve was very taken with it,and he knew I would love it, so it was now down to trying to do a deal.
Well we tried our hardest, but the Salesman was giving us a hard time on the part exchange price and we decided to reluctantly walk away, very disappointed, but we were not losing that much money on Wygly II particularly as we hadn’t had it very long, so Wygly II was staying or was he???
A few weeks passed and Steve was still thinking about the little blue Fiat and said perhaps we should up our offer, but although I was very tempted I wanted to stick to our guns and not back down. However Steve was looking through Auto Trader and saw that the little blue one was still being advertised but at a lower price and decided to phone the garage to say that we were still very interested in it. A deal was done over the phone and another little Twinair was finally joining the family.

Steve went to collect the car and enjoyed the drive home. I took it out for a test drive and what a difference, it was fab and we both are really pleased with it. This one is not called Wygly but Whizy (a play on the number plate) and Whizy it definitely is.
The Added Bonus of a Sunroof
We had booked a holiday to go to Hampshire on the 1st June, and decided it would be fun to take Whizy. Yes, Archie sat on the back seat in his seat belt, with stuff packed in the footwells around him including his dog bed and all his “stuff”. The boot was filled to the brim with our luggage which included a back pack for picnics, walking boots etc etc, but it all went in, quite amazing (who needs a big car!!!).
Hi Karen.
Just read your blog regarding your blue Fiat 500. I was interested because we are heading down to Exeter this Saturday to look at one we found on line. Guess what? the car we are hoping to buy is your car!!
Could you recommend this car ( Whizy) and were there any faults with it?
Going by the seller’s photos it still looks in very good condition. Fingers crossed we will be the new owners.
P.s this will be my wife’s car and her name is Karen!!
Hi Andy.
Thank you for your comment and enquiry regarding Whizy. I can thoroughly recommend him and I am sure that if you do go ahead and purchase him, Karen will love him as much as I did. Please let me know how you get on.
Regards
Karen
