Christmas Donkeys at Tesco

I decided to put my name down to help with a promotional stand at Tesco on Thursday 8th December 2011.  Although not bag packing this time, myself, two members of staff and two of the donkeys Garth and Vicky  from the EST (Elizabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys) Ivybridge Branch set up our stand at the Tesco store at Lee Mill, near Ivybridge,  to raise some money for the Centre. Carol Service at EST Ivybridge

The yearly carol service was held at the EST Centre in Ivybridge on Wednesday 7th December 2011.  Numbers are never known until the actual date and as previous years it was another bumper attendance, with many having to stand, as there were not enough chairs.  It is held in the indoor arena which is very festive with a huge Christmas tree and all the other Christmas decorations, as this is where all the Christmas parties for the schools are held and where the children come and meet Father Christmas in his little grotto. Bingley Arrives – my Latest Lodger

Good friends of mine have a 10 year old Rough Collie  (like “Lassie”) called Bingley and previously if they went on holiday without him he went to stay in a local  kennels.   Unfortunately the last time that Bingley stayed in these kennels, my friends were not happy with his care.  I won’t go into detail, but they have decided that they will not put Bingley there again.  That has now left them in a bit of a quandary, as now Bingley is getting on a bit they do not want to put him any other kennels.  They had arranged to go away for the weekend of the 2nd December so I offered my services.  [Read more…] about Bingley Arrives – my Latest Lodger

Deer in the Ferns, Spotted One at LastDeer in the Ferns, Spotted One at Last

1st December 2011.  Have just come back from my twice weekly walk with Henry up on Henlake Down, which is just behind our house and a lovely experience.  After walking up on this Down for over two years, I was lucky enough to come extremely close to a deer.  I have been told they are up there, but I have never seen one, but today was my lucky day.  Henry and I were just meandering through the heavily overgrown ferns  (although they are now brown and dying back) on a little path, when  I thought I saw a dog up in front of us.  [Read more…] about Deer in the Ferns, Spotted One at Last

My husband Steve is really into green energy, solar power and electric vehicles. The benefit to me is the reduced household energy bills as a result of his obsession. One thing I know he is pleased with in particular is Octopus Energy. As well as great customer service and some really good tariffs they also have a referral scheme where new customers get £50 when switching from their existing energy supplier. Its free to get a quote to see if you can save money too. Just click the link below.
