The Purchase And Preparation Of The Items – Steve’s Part

The Purchase And Preparation Of The Items – Steve’s Part

First Stage – Buying the item(s)

The first part of the process is to actually purchase the silver items.  Steve (my husband) is the buyer and regularly goes to our local auction houses where we source the majority of our items.  This is a long process in itself, as he will always preview the items, which is usually done the day before the actual auction, to have a good look at each item he intends to bid on.  He then attends the auction where he bids on the items he would like to purchase.  The trouble is there are many others who also like the same items, so he has to be very careful not to get carried away, so usually only comes home with a small percentage of the items that he was actually interested in.  He has to bear in mind that we have to sell these items on, and make a small profit, and it is not like someone just buying an item for personal use. Selling On Ebay How It All Started

Selling On Ebay How It All Started
About 9 years ago I discovered eBay and started using it to buy and sell to enhance my own collection of antiques and was spending just a couple of hours at the weekends on it.  It was really exciting waiting to see if you had won an item that you had bid on in an auction, and also just as exciting to watch people bidding on my items that I had put up for sale.

I soon became impressed with the volume and scope of items for sale. After a number of successful transactions I realised that I enjoyed trading on eBay more than my full time job and after much soul searching I decided to make it my full time occupation as I could see it was a way of making money that I enjoyed.

I then decided to focus purely on my passion for Silver and the seeds for Silver2Treasure were sown. In 2005 I created an eBay shop and became a business seller and over the coming years sales grew and I was upgraded to a Powerseller and today I am now a Top Rated Silver Powerseller. Car Treasure Hunt Ivybridge EST

Car Treasure Hunt Ivybridge EST

The Centre has a PFA (Parents and Friends Association) Committee which is a group of volunteers who arrange and run fundraising events for The Ivybridge EST .  Over the years they have arranged Barn Dances, Summer, Christmas and Easter Fairs, Quiz Nights, Fashion Shows, Car Boot Sales and most recenly a car treasure hunt, which was held on the 2nd October 2011, in absolutely glorious sunshine.  Our summer had arrived at last, a bit late, but it was lovely.

The treasure hunt entailed following instructions to get us from one place to another, and along the way solving clues and collecting items, where you would earn points.  Mileage was also taken into consideration,  as there was a prize at the end of it. We were given information that it would take us about 2 hours to complete travelling about 20 miles. [Read more…] about Car Treasure Hunt Ivybridge EST

Daisy On Holiday

Daisy On Holiday

Our immediate neighbours know that I walk Henry twice a week, and during a neighbourly chat one day, it cropped up in the conversation that their daughter was going on holiday and was going to put her much beloved dog “Daisy” a 12 month old Labradoodle into kennels for just over two weeks, while they went on holiday. My ears pricked up, exercise, lose weight came into my thought pattern, I offered my services, knowing how I hate the thought of dogs in kennels (and thinking about poor Rolfe, the police dog puppy I walked, please read the very long blog if you have not done already), my offer was accepted.

Henry My Diet And Fitness Aid

Henry My Diet And Fitness Aid

Now when Rolfe left us, for his potential police life, I felt that as he helped me to lose over a stone and half, just from walking, I need to carry this on.  I knew that if no dog was involved the commitment would not be there, and any excuse not to go out, meant that I would never go out, and all the pounds that I had lost would soon pile back on.  I don’t do gyms or other forms of exercise, as that seems such a waste of time, but actually going out for a walk, with a dog is a far more pleasant way to shed the pounds and get fit. My husband Steve is really into green energy, solar power and electric vehicles. The benefit to me is the reduced household energy bills as a result of his obsession. One thing I know he is pleased with in particular is Octopus Energy. As well as great customer service and some really good tariffs they also have a referral scheme where new customers get £50 when switching from their existing energy supplier. Its free to get a quote to see if you can save money too. Just click the link below.
